Richard Whitson is a lifelong entrepreneur with over twenty-five years of experience working at
the executive level within a variety of industries. He has expertise in mergers and acquisitions,
operations, finance, marketing, and customer service along with a proven track record of
building, managing, and leading several multi-million dollar businesses.
After graduating from Tulane University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Richard earned
his Series 7 and 63 securities licenses. With a goal of owning his own business, however, he
decided to pursue a career in the restaurant industry. He began his career at the ground level as
an Assistant Manager for the number one ranked Domino’s Pizza franchisee in Washington,
D.C., where he quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the franchise’s top managers.
Richard parlayed his success at Domino’s Pizza into the acquisition of 33 Pizza Hut restaurants
in Northeast Pennsylvania, with annual sales of over $22,000,000 and over 750 employees.
Under his leadership, the restaurants significantly improved in terms of both revenue and profit
margins. In addition to his responsibilities with his own company, Richard also lobbied Congress
on behalf of International Pizza Hut Franchise Holders Association.
After selling his Pizza Hut restaurants, Richard became an affiliate of Zada Equities, LLC and
worked with a related fund, Caymus Equity Partners. Using his many years of executive,
managerial, and entrepreneurial experience in small to mid-size businesses, Richard sourced and
evaluated potential acquisition targets and analyzed financial, operational and market conditions.
It was during this time working with Zada Equities that Richard realized how much he liked the
process of acquisition and disposition of businesses. He enjoys working with fellow
entrepreneurs to evaluate their businesses, improve their financial results, and realize the full
value of the business they have created upon exit. Of course, currently all of the entrepreneurial
energy is focused on the e-commerce-tech space and that attracted Richard to his current position
with Website Closers.
