I’ve had a brick-and-mortar business, eCom business and built a food franchise to 400 franchises across 5 countries. I’ve worked with brands such as Airbnb and Burton. All told I’ve worked with over 1,000 entrepreneurs start, scale, exit and buy businesses. From first timers all the way up to Steve Jobs and his executive team. I have a real estate portfolio and invest in early-stage companies.
One of the keys of selling your business is to understand what the businesses strengths and weakness are – this will help you accentuate the value and strengthen the weaknesses. Also, spending a lot of time in creating outline of ways to scale the business because in essence this is what the buyer is buying. Lastly, be flexible, price is one thing but most of the time your exit will come together in the terms of the deal.
