Conquer the Stress Cycle with These Easy Strategies

Everyone feels stress. It’s a natural part of life. But too much stress can render someone powerless, and at the very least, completely unproductive. Experiencing stress actually makes it even more difficult to deal with future stress, because of the wear and tear it takes on the brain.   • Disconnect yourself from the world. This is easier said than done, of course. We are all hard-wired into the lives of everyone else, whether it’s via the internet, our Smartphones, tablets, wifi where we drink coffee, you name it. Give yourself a few minutes or an hour to break free from that technological hold. You’ll find you feel refreshed and rejuvenated.
  • Learn how to deal with toxic people. They are everywhere. Toxic people are draining and cause stress and anxiety. The best way to approach a toxic person is to try and remain emotionless. Consider their point of view first, and then without getting your own frustrations involved, try and come to a reasonable solution.
  • Practice being in the moment. Mindfulness is a buzzword that everyone’s heard by now. But the message is a great one, when you live in the moment, you are grateful for where you are and where you stand in life. The stresses around you fall away and you’re able to look at them from a more unique and detached perspective.
  • Just say no… to what you can’t fit on your plate. People become stressed when they are overwhelmed with the amount of tasks, projects and work – even sometimes fun – they have to accomplish in one day or week. Learning to decisively say no will create boundaries for you that will translate into a more calm mental state, and less overall debilitating stress.
