Jonathan Wang Business Broker

Bio

With over a decade of experience in the tech industry, Jonathan is a seasoned M&A broker at WebsiteClosers.com, the world’s largest Tech & Internet Business Brokerage firm. His mission is to help tech entrepreneurs and business owners achieve their liquidity and exit goals while maximizing returns. Jonathan works directly with business owners to identify all of the company’s differentiating factors and to ensure the company’s financials are in good shape for a sale to maximize deal value. Furthermore, not only will he represent your business from A to Z throughout the entire M&A process and work with you every step of the way to ensure you get the best deal possible, but he will also work with the buyer of your company to help them finance the transaction and ultimately get the deal done.

Jonathan was an engineer by trade, having attended college in the Midwest and studied computer science in undergrad. He started his career at Deloitte Consulting in Chicago and New York advising Fortune 100 clients on business and technology transformation projects. After a two-year stint with Deloitte, he went to study finance at MIT Sloan School of Management and subsequently worked at Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA), a quantitative investment fund headquartered in Austin, TX with over $500B in AUM founded by economics Nobel laureate Eugene Fama. After a year working in investment management, Jonathan realized that software was eating the world so he packed his bag and moved to Silicon Valley to join HomeLight, a VC-backed tech startup as one of its first 20 Early Employees. Jonathan was a jack of all trades and worked hand-in-hand with the founders across multiple domains including user acquisition, product management, software development, and business operations to successfully scale the company from less than $1M/year in revenue run-rate to over $5M/year in less than 3 years, raising over $300M in venture capital funding in the process. After a successful exit from the tech startup world, Jonathan worked at Amazon where he focused on enterprise software sales and product management in its Cloud business. It was during this time that Jonathan became intrigued by Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) and started searching for companies to acquire. He made a few LOIs but all failed due diligence. The experience helped Jonathan realize he has a knack for deal-making and ultimately propelled him to become a broker with WebsiteClosers.com.

Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s degree in finance from MIT Sloan School of Management.
